When I first moved back to the States, I couldn’t figure out what Renaissance Festivals were all about. Twelve years later, I got it – you wear something as funny, provocative or revealing as you can in the general theme of the weekend. This weekend at our local Renfest, it was All Hallow’s Eve so I decided to go as a black cat(ish). Teddy said that I was getting plenty of attention from children and young men. I guess they both wanted a cuddle, of sorts…
Teddy made a minimum effort with his outfit, as usual. He looks pensive but he is really just overwhelmed by the amount of cleavage and ass on view. This is one of his shots.
It is a disability friendly venue and I just loved Death – both the concept and the effort
These ladies made it feel medieval…
I really liked the big black bunny rabbit…
I loved this giant fairy (on stilts)
I thought I misheard when someone called out, ‘watch out for the llama!” but no…
It was as hot as hell, so I have no idea how this knight in shining armor coped.
There was an arial Hawk show and I love this shot of a King Vulture getting ready to fly. All the birds were disabled or unable to be released into the wild.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!
Oh Death is brilliant!

Isn’t it fun – everyone lets their hair down at this special event. We can even drink alcohol on Sunday morning – wow!

Amazing imagination and execution – such fun. The vulture wins by a beak, for me!

I believe it is the largest in the USA. Well, what else do you expect in Texas. It is the one place that demonstrates the reality of TX – all colors, genders, disabilities, breast implants. 🐱

And THAT is good reason to celebrate 🎉 x

Wow, look at you in that costume! No wonder you got so much attention from children and men alike. 😉
Love the picture of the king vulture.
Happy Halloween, Kerry! 🎃

Thank you, Margarisa. It might sound hard to believe but I was dressed modestly compared to most – really!! The King Vulture is beautiful, isn’t he? 😆🐱

So RenFest is like a ComicCon for the sophisticated? I always wondered why the theme seemed to be medieval when the actual Renaissance was Europe “awakening” from the Dark Ages. Or maybe my history classes were just tooooo long ago….
Oh, and awesome costume! 😀

Noooo, it’s in no way sophisticated and it should be called ‘Ye Olde Fair’ or some such. Thank you (costume)!

Wow!! This looks like it was so much fun! I miss dressing up and will make a note no matter what happens next year to go to a Halloween party in a costume. You look great Kerry!

Thank you, Steph. I love dressing up and don’t care how silly I look!

I used to do it years ago and then I don’t know why I stopped. It was probably because I don’t really party anymore and haven’t done for many years.

I don’t party either so I love an open venue where it is okay to wear cat ears and go to bed at a reasonable time.

Forgot to comment on the llama. A little off topic, speaking of llamas did you know that ostriches can attack? My cousin and I were out riding in the country not too long ago and we came upon what looked like a farm only instead of cows, horses, sheep, etc. they had ostriches. This led into a conversation where my cousin told me years ago that her and her daughter was preparing to leave track practice when all of the sudden this huge bird came charging at them. Of course I’m like “nah uh, that’s impossible.” She said they were running for the car screaming for their lives but they weren’t hurt and it was funny in retrospect. I laughed so hard I nearly peed myself.

Hi Steph. I just found this comment in my spam folder? Ostriches are pretty scary – they are really big!

Really? I’ve found a few real comments in spam but I seldom check it, I’ll have to get better at it. Yeah, and to top it my cuz couldn’t remember they name of the bird so she was trying to describe it because I couldn’t see them. But the picture in my mind of her and her daughter running and screaming had me guffawing.

I guess it is kind of hard to describe an ostrich. I’d be hopeless since I forget the cat’s name…😆
