Yeah, it’s perfectly normal to see a tame black vulture on a beat up truck in backwoods Texas…
Teddy is really blowing kisses at a camel – we miss them so much! It’s also hump day. Happy Wednesday!
This lovely Ankole-Watusi who has the largest horns in the bovine world made me cry with laughter. Teddy has normal OCD and his crazy fear is sticky hands/stuff. This glorious critter was so excited to see his first guests at Franklin Safari park that as soon as I took the photo, he leaned in and DROOLED! It was filling up the side pocket of the car…and Teddy was beginning to panic. Once I stopped laughing we gently rolled the window up and I passed over the disinfectant wipes that I have to carry for Teddy. He was torn between his delight at being so close and his horror at the drool.
Only one of us could ever live at a farm…
O my goodness just look at the size of those horns, they are huge, being so up close and personal with these beautiful creatures must have been an amazing experience. Thanks for sharing and have a good day 😀 Aiva

There used to be an Ankole Watusi roaming free at The Holler! The vulture shot is great!

Thank you, Cindy. I can’t believe you had one roaming free – I would have followed it like a stalker!!

Aw, I’ll bet cow drool is cleaner than the human mouth. Maybe not a vulture’s….

It probably is but you are right about the vulture. He was preening himself very nicely.

My favorite sentence in this post: “He was torn between his delight at being so close and his horror at the drool.” Hahaha! Poor Teddy!

He is a wuss, really! We both love cattle – back in Scotland we walked a couple of miles from home and found a lovely herd. They were very friendly, so we snuggled with the non-drooling herd, until I spotted they had ringworm. Teddy ran all the way home…LOL! 🐄🐄🐄

If I was worried about drool it is the camel I’d keep an eye on – they spit at the slightest provocation!

Happy camels don’t spit! 🐪

It was the sweetest bovine despite the drool. Thank you, Eliza! 🐄

Not a big fan of drool myself, and hope Teddy laughed later.

Love all animals, doesn’t matter if it’s a bird, camel, or cow. And I had no idea there are camels in Texas. They like the desert, and I’d expect to see them more in Arizona or Nevada. Then again, it is hot in Texas. Extremely hot. Almost tropical.
