No, I haven’t had a psychiatric break – I just wanted to see what my gray hair looks like. If I was a guy this cut would be so sexy but even so I quite like it. It is more salt and pepper than silver – that is literary license…
I had a light bulb moment when I realized that I can’t even go out to restaurants for many months so why bother dyeing my hair every few weeks. My hairdresser was trepidatious but cut it so cleverly if very short. I have come to terms with the fact that I no longer suit long hair (and perhaps never did). See A History of Horrid Haircuts for reference.
I thought that the texture might be softer but it is not…but it is much less itchy. When all of this is over I might decide to color it blonde again (or pink or peach) or not. My eyes have darkened to almost all gray and I suit different colored clothes.
On a random note, do you notice my Frank’s sign on my never pierced ear? It has long been hypothesized that this vertical crease on your ear is indicative of cardiac disease. Given my family history, that is probably true but why worry? There is always a new pandemic or crazy election around the corner… π
It looks great as you say you suit short hair (I followed the linkπ) If your hair style suits you, itβs sexy… boy or girl π

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your comment as it is always a bit scary to embrace your age… On that note, I fixed my first u bend under the sink yesterday with help from the hardware guy. Go Kerry !!!

You are my best Canadian pal!! Thank you, Joseph. Currently, I am rocking a purple thumb after fixing the U Bend under the sink with advice from the hardware store. I am so proud of myself – did it all by myself if somewhat painfully…

Jeez Louise – it couldn’t be any worse even if I was bald!! It is turning a sort of sandy gray – almost like an ash blonde. Do you remember those fancy black shiny wellies with heels that we all got one year? I loved them.

Looking good, Kerry! Short hair are timeless and your natural colour suits you so well. More power to you, my friend, for embracing your age in this youth obsessed culture! I’m fourty next year, and I’m definitely healthier, happier and more content than I was twenty years ago 𧑠greetings from Sligo. I hope all is well π Aiva

Thank you so much, Aiva! You certainly look much younger than your age. My favorite age was mid fifties – so much fun. Hope all is well with you during this lockdown. I suspect one is coming soon here. Trump is making things very difficult for President Elect Biden. I have offered to go into the White House with a cattle prod…π

Ha! When I was in my 20’s, boy style haircut and dyeing hair (or wig) salt and pepper was all the rage. I have a picture somewhere in that wig. I love this style!

I had a wig like that back in the 70’s – my aunt sent it from Manhattan! Teddy suggested I get a wig if I get fed up with the silver. Then I can have the long blonde straight hair I long for….

70’s it was, yes! You have such a cute gamin face, darling, that you’ll look smashing in everything.

Thank you, MB! My hair started to go gray in my 20’s so it has been a long relationship with hair dye, π

I love it! I did the same, buzzed off my hair myself and let it go silver!

You did! I can’t wait to see it. Thank you so much, Cindy, The Pandemic was a perfect opportunity – small ‘silver’ lining. π

I always thought you rocked the pixie cut very well. It brings out your face’s countours and cheekbones. Silvery grey also looks like a good fit on you – doesn’t make you look washed out. That said, if you want to go back to pink, why not. Go for it and shock π

Thank you so much, Mabel – such a kind comment. To be truthful, I think the cut makes all the difference. Now I have temporary colors to play with…π

It’s also easier to dye shorter hair…and also I think there’s less fallout π

I love it Kerry! I have colored my hair for near fifty years, taking off a few years here and there, but I always seemed to go back. It has been red, very blonde, honey blonde, and once, in high school, accidentally green! There are still people alive who probably remember this amazing accident of hair coloring. Anyway, I also think of going back to original. Around my face it is very white, but in the back it is still dark. One day…maybe…you are inspiring.

Thank you so much! I, too, have been ever color under the sun including green. When my aunt stopped dyeing her hair, her hairdresser added low and high lights to merge the color. It was lovely.

Suits you dear. You look like a Skinbird, those chicks that used to hang out with the Skinheads in their rolled-up jeans and bovver boots in the 1960s π

The gray started to get a very harsh texture so I put a semi-permanent blonde on it – washing out already. Looking forward to going to the hairdresser in 2021!
