Voiceovers are not my forte…

…as you can hear below. This is my homage to Janey Godley who has kept me sane during the pandemic with her hilarious voiceover videos. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. What is it about our own voices that cause us to cringe? This is a real video from our garden with two squirrels on our outside cat house, Lesley is on the roof and Danielle is down below. I placed blackberries up the stairs to get a fun video.

Perhaps a wee bit of helium would have helped? In my head I believe my funny voices and penguin walks are hilarious but you can see why Teddy is ready to go back to work! This is how it should be done – there is a couple of wee sweary words but it made me laugh out loud. Happy Memorial Weekend!

  1. Squirrels are adorable, and extremely fun to watch. When I lived in Dublin, I used to escape to the Botanical Gardens in Glasnevin. Back then the gardens and the adjoining Glasnevin cemetery were overrun with grey squirrels, and I could watch them for hours. As squirrels don’t dig up all of their buried nuts (which results in more trees!) it a pretty great reason to appreciate them. Thanks for sharing and have a nice day, Kerry. I hope all is well. 2. What makes me cringe whenever I hear myself from a recording is my Cologne accent. I don’t really care when I’m speaking German, but I really resent that when I’m speaking English.
    Have a great weekend,

    • I do have my own channel but it is just for the WordPress blogs, although I noticed I had a few followers. I think my accent is a bit “Prime of Miss Jean Brodie” so not that funny!! Not bad for narrating though…one day.
